Voting in the 2022 ElectionWith Election Day approaching, I thought it might be helpful to provide a rundown of key dates, information, and links to resources to make it easier to take part in this critical civic process. I hope you find it useful.
Voting in Person on Nov. 8Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The state Polling Place Search tool will help you locate your polling place. Voters who are voting for the first time in their election district will be required to show an ID. Acceptable IDs for first-time voters:
Can’t Get to the Polls?Going to the polls on election day is the most secure way to cast your vote. If you are unable to vote securely in person, you may apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot. Applications for mail and absentee ballots can be requested online or you can download the form and return it to your County Voter Registration Office no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1. After you receive your ballot, fill it out following the instructions. Sign and date the declaration and mail or deliver the ballot to your County Voter Registration Office. If you have an emergency (such as an unexpected illness or disability or last-minute absence from your municipality) you may still be able to get a ballot after the deadline.
